Designing scholarly communications--A discussion paper for the Perth Working Conference on Human Benefit through the Diffusion of IS Design Science Research

The attached paper (available to logged in users) presents suggestions for the design of a scholarly communications system for the IFIP Working Group 8.2 (WG8.2) community. Learned societies such as IFIP have long been important in the system of scholarly communications. With the affordances of the Internet, WG8.2 can play a larger role in promoting scholarly communications to achieve multiple goals: dissemination and archiving of quality research, but also supporting the development of scholars and the research community.
