IFIPWG8.2 Jubilee Panel and Workshop on the future of research on information systems and organisations

Event date:

IFIP WG8.2 invites all of its members, friends, and other interested parties to join us for a special event this year to celebrate IFIP’s 60th anniversary.

“Where next? New directions for research on the interaction of information systems and organisations”

On December 8th 2021 from 19:00 -22:00 UTC , IFIPWG8.2 will host a two-part online event to mark the 60th anniversary of the International Federation for Information Processing.
In the first part, a panel of leading scholars from the 8.2 community will discuss new directions for research on the interaction of information systems and organisations. Panellists have been invited to reflect on the WG 8.2’s contribution to research on information systems and organisations over the years and to identify challenges and opportunities for the IS community and society at large in the decades ahead. The panel has been organised as the WG’s contribution to IFIP’s official jubilee event series. Participation is free of charge (no registration required); we welcome everyone interested in research on information systems and organisations.

Following the panel, friends and members of 8.2 are invited to join us for a 2-hour workshop to discuss the implications of themes raised by panel members for the working group and its future direction. A number of parallel interactive sessions will be used to develop topics that working group members hope to see featuring in the working group’s future conferences and workshops. A small charge will be made for participation in the workshop to cover the obligatory IFIP fees.

The panel and workshop will be followed by the Working Group’s Business Meeting (starting at 22:00 UTC. This is open to all current members, friends, and those seeking to become involved in the 8.2 community.
