Position: Secretary
Name:
Yeliz Eseryel
Statement:
I’ve been a member of IFIP 8.2 for 12,5 years. I organized IFIP 8.2’s pre-ICIS OASIS workshop in Milan in 2013. I am interested in serving IFIP 8.2. to help create various engagement opportunities for our community especially after the COVID challenge. As a secretary, I would like to support the visioning and execution of the vision of the new chair and vice-chair. IFIP 8.2 has been a welcoming community for me since I was a Ph.D student. I would like to pay it forward by attracting more Ph.D. students to our community. As a graduate of Middle East Technical University (Turkey), Syracuse University (US), and having taught in 6 different countries (US, the Netherlands, Denmark, France, Turkey and Switzerland), I hope that my international background contributes to both the diversity and global perspectives represented by the IFIP work group. The skills I accumulated in organizing and contributing to international events (conferences and workshops) and journals should help me serve our community in the best possible manner. Since 2007, I’ve served our field as a workshop organizer, program committee member, publicity chair and Associate Editor in international workshops and conferences such as International Conference on Open Source Systems (OSS), Mediterranean Conference on Information Systems (MCIS), and International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) and European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS). I am one of the founding members of AIS Sig OPEN (2014). I’ve been an editorial board member of the Journal of Leadership and Management since 2015.
