The challenges of implementing enterprise-wide information systems: Lessons from research

Over the past decade we have dramatically improved of our tools, our methods, and our technology. But implementing enterprise-wide information systems remains a challenge. Why is it that we still have huge ERP disasters, systems that fail to meet the expectations, and more than 50% of IT projects deemed to be a failure? In this presentation, Michael will share some of the lessons learned from his 15 years of research looking at information systems success and failure. He will give examples from a variety of organisations and industries to illustrate the challenges we face.
